Blazing a Trail

Lewis and Clark strives to provide the best education for its students and community, but also to lead the way for others in many efforts outside the classroom.

Spring 2010 marked a milestone of 15 consecutive years of Spring semester enrollment increases, with increases in credit hours and credit students as well. With a total of 29 consecutive fall and spring semesters, Lewis and Clark has seen the longest continuing growth trend in the state of Illinois.

In addition, the College boasts the state's largest Associate Degree Nursing, dual credit and workforce training programs.

In the field of community healthcare, Lewis and Clark has made headlines with the Lewis and Clark Family Health Clinic, which is the only nurse managed clinic operated by a community college in the nation, providing low cost healthcare to the growing number of uninsured and underserved residents of the region.

In an effort to help the environment, Lewis and Clark, one of the founding members of the Illinois Green Economy Network (formerly the Illinois Community College Sustainability Network), has also been a leader in sustainability initiatives and green efforts in the community. The College is currently working to reduce its carbon footprint and encourage recycling.
