Sustainable Community

Lewis and Clark realizes it's not enough to lead by example on campus alone, and has several community initiatives in place to help promote sustainability throughout our college district and beyond.

Cool Cities Group - Alton
The college has partnered with the Alton Cool Cities committee to work on bringing green initiatives to the citizens of Alton. The partnership has provided energy efficiency training for homeowners and seminars on how residential consumers are billed for their utilities.

County Wide Waste Reduction
Lewis and Clark has teamed up with representatives from the Sierra Club, Principia College, and the citizens of Alton to come up with an innovative plan for reducing waste from businesses throughout Madison County.
