Heather is one of a family of Lewis and Clark students who chose the college due to its proximity to home and its vast array of career programs.
While she works toward a degree in paralegal, her mother, Kimberly Embry, is also attending L&C and hopes to go into nursing, and her older sister, Dawn Embry, is pursuing a transfer degree with emphasis in communications.
"I’ve always been interested in the law and how it works. Now I will get the chance to put my knowledge to use by helping others," she said.
Now that she's on campus, she's found more to like about Lewis and Clark - including the quality of the faculty and the campus itself.
"The instructors are personable and down to earth. They relate well to their students," she said. "Plus, the campus is always up to date and making changes to keep it accommodating for the students."
Eventually, Heather, also a mother of two, would like to pursue a bachelor's degree in paralegal.
