SSC Extends Hours in Light of Finals

Various facets of L&C's Student Success Center are expanding their hours during the last two weeks of the Fall 2010 semester to accommodate students who are increasingly busy with final papers, projects and tests.

Math Resource Center


The MRC will be open one hour earlier (7 a.m.) Monday through Friday through Dec. 16.

Godfrey Campus
Commons 233, McPike Math & Science Complex
7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Mondays & Thursdays 
7 a.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesdays & Wednesdays
7 a.m. - 2 p.m. Fridays

N.O. Nelson Campus (Edwardsville)
Building N3, Room 224
2:30 - 7 p.m. Mondays
8 a.m. – noon & 12:30 – 7 p.m. Tuesdays
5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursdays
11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Fridays


Writing Desk/Academic Tutoring

 
The Writing Desk will be open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the last two weeks of the semester - an hour earlier each morning and two hours later on Friday afternoons through Tuesday, Dec. 14 (though OWL submissions will end on Friday, Dec. 10).
 
There will also be time added to the middle portion of the day when two tutors will be available to cut waiting time for students during the busiest tutoring periods:
 
Liz Randall will work 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. M,W,F
Anna Neunaber will work 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. M,W,F
Steve Higgins will work 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. T,TR
Jarret Green will work 9:30 a.m.  to 4 p.m. T, TR
 

These offerings, through L&C's Student Success Center, can help. Last school year, more than 80 percent of the students who came for help ended up passing their classes with a final grade of a C or better.
