L&C Concert Choir and Riverbend Children’s Chorus in Concert Nov. 5

Godfrey, Ill. – The Lewis and Clark Community College Concert Choir will present a fall concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 at the Godfrey First United Methodist Church, 1100 Airport Road.  Admission is free.

The concert will feature traditional songs and spirituals from several traditions, including the familiar Jewish folk song, “Hevenu Shalom Aleichem,”and Mark Hayes’ arrangement of “Battle of Jericho” as well as his new original work, “In the Morning, Joy.”  

Howard Helvey’s arrangement of “Glory, Glory, Hallelujah” will feature soloists Sarah Gooding, Allison Warner and Bob Stanford. Fiddle player Mary Rose Primavera will be featured with the choir in Emily Crocker’s arrangement of “Soldiers’ Joy.”  

Schubert’s “Mass in G” will also be presented, featuring soloists Jamie Mills, Chris Eubank, Andy Weiler, Gail Drillinger, Jennifer Miller, Patrick Dailey and Emilie Nevins.

The Riverbend Children’s Chorus gives its debut performance under the direction of Barbara McHugh and Chris Eubank. The children will perform three numbers and the finale with the Concert Choir.
 
The Riverbend Children’s Choir is open to all children in grades first through eighth.  The Concert Choir is open to students and community singers of all ages.
